Stinson Advises Great Range Capital in the Sale of HeartLand to Sterling Investment Partners

Stinson LLP served as legal advisor to Kansas City-based private equity firm Great Range Capital (GRC) in its sale of HeartLand, LLC, a GRC portfolio company and commercial landscape management firm, to Sterling Investment Partners (SIP) based in Connecticut. SIP made a majority equity investment in HeartLand, in partnership with management.

HeartLand was formed in 2016 by GRC and HeartLand CEO Edward Schatz Jr. As it grew, it acquired nine landscaping companies, including Kansas City-based Signature Landscape. HeartLand now has five regional operating brands that provide services for more than 3,000 properties throughout Kansas City and Columbia, MO; Denver, CO; Lexington, KY; and Pittsburgh, PA.

Stinson attorneys involved included Jack Bowling, Scott Claassen, Kyle Foote, David Jenson, Pat Konopka, Phil McKnight, Tom Molins, Karl Phares, Andrea Sellers, Sam Butler, Ron Johnson, John Pray, Jaclyn Schroeder and Lucas Sheets.
