Russell Frisby, Jr. Selected as Stinson's 2020 D&I Champion Award Winner

Press Release

Stinson LLP is excited to announce that Partner Russell Frisby, Jr. has been selected as the firm's 2020 Diversity and Inclusion Champion Award winner. This annual award was presented virtually on Thursday as a part of Stinson's sixth annual Diversity Week activities.

Frisby has a long history of D&I service, including serving as co-chair of the Federal Communication Bar Association's Diversity Committee, vice chair of the Maryland Commission on African American History and Culture, and as past secretary of the ABA Conference of Minority Partners. He is also a long-time member and past co-chair of Stinson's Diversity Committee.

"We're deeply grateful for everything Russell done to make this firm a more diverse, inclusive and equitable one. He is a true champion in this space," said Mark Hinderks, Stinson's managing partner, who presented Frisby with the award.

In his practice, Frisby counsels companies in the energy, communications and technology industries on regulatory and corporate issues. He champions these entities in administrative proceedings, litigation and advocacy efforts, and provides strategic and corporate advice. He has represented clients before the Executive Branch, Congress, the Federal Communications Commission, the Department of Energy, the Federal Trade Commission, state utility commissions, state legislatures, federal courts (including the US Supreme Court) and has testified before Congressional committees.

The award builds upon Stinson's Diversity Week celebration, which is planned and organized by the firm's Diversity Committee. Events included a virtual CLE and firmwide discussions and activities on the theme of allyship.
