Roy Goldberg Quoted in Law360 Article on Contention in the Aviation Industry
Stinson LLP aviation Partner Roy Goldberg was recently quoted in a Law360 feature regarding federal preemption applied to litigation involving federally-funded airports. The quote referenced a court case in Connecticut where the community was stymied in its efforts to limit increasing runway lengths. Roy supported the court's decision, saying it shows the overriding policy of letting safety dictate key decisions involving airports and jet aircraft, rather than community interests.
"This was a good result because airline safety is paramount and should govern over state and local efforts to micromanage airport facilities and operations," Roy said.
Roy is a trial, appellate and regulatory attorney and transportation lawyer who represents corporations, partnerships, airlines, airports, trade associations, aircraft owners, airport vendors, developers and other aviation and transportation entities on a wide range of commercial and regulatory litigation matters. Additionally, he provides advice and counseling to airlines, airports and other aviation industry entities.
