Roy Goldberg Quoted in Law360 Article on E-Scooter Challenges

Stinson LLP Partner Roy Goldberg was recently quoted in a Law360 article on the legal issues surrounding electric scooter companies, which have often faced discrepant regulations from city to city.

As e-scooters have cropped up in cities across the country, many regulators have established permitting processes, restrictions and safety requirements for both the companies behind them and the riders. Demand for these "micromobility" options has increased as cities see more traffic and congestion.

Roy noted that though e-scooters may take away from revenue generated through other transportation modes, such as public buses, cities should not tax companies for this reason, but should only use taxing or regulatory powers to enforce rules based on genuine safety concerns.

Roy is a trial, appellate and regulatory attorney and transportation lawyer who represents corporations, partnerships, airlines, airports, trade associations, aircraft owners, airport vendors, developers and other aviation and transportation entities on a wide range of commercial and regulatory litigation matters. Additionally, he provides advice and counseling to airlines, airports and other aviation industry entities.
