Robin Carlson Receives Volunteer Pro Bono Award From Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association
Stinson Leonard Street LLP is proud to announce that Robin Carlson was selected to receive the 2016 Robert C. Welch Volunteer Attorney Project Award. The Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA) presents the award annually to individual attorneys or law firms who, through their work with Legal Aid of Western Missouri's Volunteer Attorney Project (VAP), have demonstrated an exemplary commitment to the delivery of pro bono legal services in the Kansas City community.
As a VAP participant, Carlson has donated hundreds of hours to schoolchildren and their parents in matters involving special education and student discipline. In addition, she has served as a supervisor and mentor to a number of attorneys at the firm who are involved in these matters.
Carlson and other attorneys were recognized May 12, 2016 at an awards dinner as part of the annual KCMBA Bench-Bar & Boardroom Conference.
Carlson is a partner in the firm’s ERISA/Insurance litigation practice group. She has litigated a wide variety of matters including single plaintiff, multi-party and class action litigation. In addition, she has experience in insurance, employment, and product liability cases before state, federal and appeals courts. She has represented clients in cases involving employment discrimination, confidentiality and non-compete/non-solicitation agreements, employee benefits, banking disputes and trademark matters.
She is a member of the board of directors for Si Jak NFP, a past member of the board of directors of the Gillis Center and a fellow in the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity.
