Rob Kugler Quoted in Star Tribune Story on Outreach Efforts in Archdiocese Bankruptcy

In the News

Stinson Leonard Street LLP attorney Rob Kugler is quoted in a recent Star Tribune article that details the efforts to track down every victim of clergy sex abuse in Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis.

Kugler and Stinson Leonard Street represent the unsecured creditors in the archdiocese's bankruptcy. The judge in the case set a deadline of Aug. 3, 2015 for individuals abused by clergy in the archdiocese to file claims. Attorneys are doing everything they can—including advertising in state and national newspapers—to contact victims and notify them of the impending deadline. Attorneys have also reached out to law enforcement and local treatment centers in an effort to locate potential victims.

Kugler said it is necessary to take such an unprecedented step because this is an unprecedented case. He said the outreach is critical because it’s no simple task to locate abuse victims. Many have moved. Some have married and changed their names. Some may not be watch or read the news.
