Stefan Palys Elected to the Fellows of the American Bar Foundation
Stefan M. Palys, an attorney in the Phoenix office of Stinson Leonard Street LLP, has been elected as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation (ABF), joining less than one percent of the attorneys admitted to practice in each jurisdiction of the U.S. who are ABF members. ABF is dedicated to advancing justice and the understanding of law and its impact on society. Eight other attorneys from Stinson Leonard Street are ABF Fellows.
The American Bar Foundation is an organization dedicated to advancing justice through rigorous research on the law, legal practices, and the law’s impact on our society. The Fellows is an honorary organization of attorneys, judges, law faculty, and legal scholars who have been elected by their peers to become members. Nominees are elected based on outstanding achievements and dedication to the welfare of their communities and to the highest principles of the legal profession.
"This is a significant honor for Stefan and, by being elected to be a Fellow of the ABF, he joins some of the best known and respected members of the legal community," said Michael Manning, managing partner of Stinson Leonard Street's Phoenix office. "The foundation plays an important role in Arizona and across the country. We're pleased others from our firm are also ABF Fellows who assist the organization in its efforts."
The American Bar Foundation’s mission is to serve the legal profession, the public, and the academy through empirical research, publications, and programs that advance justice and the understanding of law and its impact on society. Primary funding for the ABF is provided by the American Bar Endowment.
In 2014, Palys and five other attorneys from Stinson Leonard Street's Phoenix office were named Southwest Rising Stars in business litigation by Super Lawyers, which recognizes attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their legal practice.
Palys earned a law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Arizona. He earned an undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University.
Following graduation from law school, Stefan clerked for the Honorable Ann Scott Timmer of the Arizona Court of Appeals.
