MP Logistics Becomes First Asian Franchisee of Enterprise Car Rental
ST. LOUIS (May 26, 2017)—Stinson Leonard Street LLP represented Vietnamese company MP Logistics in the successful negotiation with Enterprise Holdings, Inc., of Clayton, Missouri, to become the first Enterprise Car Rental franchisee in Asia. The deal, which closed May 24, 2017, also gives MP Logistics the first right of refusal for the rest of Southeast Asia. Enterprise is the world's largest car rental company and also operates National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car.
MP Logistics plans to offer long-term car rentals next year to employees of multinational companies under the Enterprise-Rent-A-Car brand in the Vietnamese cities of Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Danang. The company will eventually expand to short-term car rentals for business and leisure travelers. MP Logistics is a family-owned company that specializes in air and ocean freight, warehousing, distribution, project cargo and inland transportation.
The Stinson team was led by St. Louis partners Nicole Zellweger and Johnny Wang. Zellweger counsels franchisors and franchisees in the transaction and litigation areas. She is a frequent speaker at the American Bar Association's Forum on Franchising and has been named a "Legal Eagle" by the Franchise Law Journal since 2012.
