Johnny Wang Selected For 2016-2017 Leadership St. Louis Class
Stinson Leonard Street partner Johnny Wang has been selected by FOCUS St. Louis for the 41st Leadership St. Louis (LSL) class. The 60 professionals selected come from the private, public and nonprofit sectors and join a group of more than 2,000 leaders who have graduated from the LSL program since its inception in 1976.
Leadership St. Louis is a program for emerging and established leaders who have demonstrated a deep commitment to improving the St. Louis area. Participants explore complex issues, such as racism and regionalism, while building practical skills in areas such as policy analysis, conflict resolution, collaboration and enabling change.
The curriculum combines face-to-face dialogue with regional decision makers to gain a deeper understanding of leadership approaches that produce results with several site visits to key locations across St. Louis to learn about some of the critical issues facing the region.
Wang is a partner in the firm and an international labor and employment attorney. He helps clients of all sizes with day-to-day counseling, workplace investigations and with litigation matters from pre-charge phase through appeals. He has helped businesses with hiring and firing in more than 20 foreign jurisdictions. He defends clients in wage and hour collective action/class action case and with union avoidance. He has also served as the lead negotiator for several collective bargaining agreement contract negotiations.
He is the co-founder and member of the board of directors of the Asian American Chamber of Commerce of St. Louis and is a Fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity. He earned his J.D. from Washington University School of Law.
