05.09.2014

Jack Bowling, a partner in the Kansas City office of Stinson Leonard Street LLP, was named to the 2014 40 Under Forty list by Ingram's Magazine, the leading business publication covering Missouri and Kansas. The list appears in the magazine's April issue.

Each year, to create its 40 Under Forty list, Ingram's collects hundreds of nominations submitted on behalf of Kansas City area business professionals and leaders who have achieved significant success in their careers and the community.

On Thursday, May 9, Ingram's held a reception in honor of the 2014 40 Under Forty class at Union Station, a historic landmark in the heart of greater Kansas City. Bowling was joined by members of the firm and his family at the event. Mark Hinderks, Stinson Leonard Street's Co-Managing Partner; John Granda, the firm's Corporate Finance Division Chair and Steve Cosentino, the firm's Intellectual Property Division Chair also attended.

"I'm grateful to Ingram's for naming me to the 2014 class and appreciate what the magazine goes through to create the list each year," said Bowling. "I also have great clients, great colleagues at Stinson Leonard Street and a great community to thank. The opportunity to work with all three not only motivates me, it also makes what I do most enjoyable and interesting."

As an attorney in the firm's Corporate Finance Division, Bowling advises clients on transactional matters. He represents publicly- and privately-held companies with respect to mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, capital formation, venture capital investment and corporate governance matters. Jack also counsels publicly-held companies as to securities law and SRO regulatory compliance. His experience includes advising clients on structuring and documenting private investment funds, strategic alliances and joint ventures.

Bowling has held several leadership roles in the firm. He currently serves as co-chair of the firm's Private Equity Practice Group and co-chair of the firm's Associate Development and Mentoring Committee. He is also a member of the firm's Business Development Committee.

Bowling has also been active in the Kansas City community. He currently serves as a board member of the Community Health Charities of Kansas and Missouri. From 2006 to 2012, Bowling served as a board member of the Brain Injury Association of Kansas and Greater Kansas City, the association best known for The Amy Thompson Run. He is a graduate of Kansas City Tomorrow, a leadership development program sponsored by the Civic Council of Kansas City.

Based on his practice and community leadership, Bowling has received local and national recognition. In 2013, Legal Media Group named Jack to its "CleanTech 100" list, a peer-review based ranking of the top 100 cleantech and renewable energy attorneys in the U.S. In recent years, he has also been recognized as "Up and Coming Lawyer" by Missouri Lawyers Weekly and a "Rising Star" list by Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers.

"Jack is most deserving of recognition and we thank Ingram's for adding him to what I know is an extraordinarily talented group of professionals from the area," said Mark Hinderks, co-managing partner, Stinson Leonard Street. "Jack's energy, intellect and focused disposition – important qualities for a corporate attorney to have – have earned him the respect of clients, peers and co-workers alike."

Bowling received a law degree from DePaul University in 2002. He received an undergraduate degree in accounting and business administration from the University of Kansas in 1997.
