Former General Counsel Victoria Donovan Joins Firm in Denver
Stinson Leonard Street LLP is pleased to announce that Victoria (Tori) Donovan has joined the firm in Denver as a partner in the private business group. Donovan is a business-minded lawyer with significant experience advising emerging and established companies in a full range of issues, including, corporate matters, equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, technology and intellectual property licensing, corporate governance, and material sales and service agreements. A significant amount of her practice is focused on the technology, media, sports, advertising, hospitality and service industries.
Donovan joins Stinson after serving as general counsel for two private companies, a global media technology company and a national housing company, where she also served on the companies’ senior leadership and executive teams. Prior to her general counsel roles, Donovan practiced with a large regional firm representing public and private companies in venture finance, private equity, mergers and acquisitions, securities law compliance, and emerging growth transactions.
During her tenure as general counsel, Donovan worked with corporate executives and management teams to evaluate, manage, and solve corporate legal and operational issues and challenges while also focusing on corporate initiatives and growth goals. She is intimately familiar with the issues her clients face and the critical, day-to-day decisions that come with running a business. She also understands that legal solutions are not always the most appropriate way to address problems. She works with her clients to devise the strategy that is best fit for their business and their goals.
Donovan earned her law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. She is immediate past president of the Colorado Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel and a member of the Blackstone Entrepreneurs Network.
Donovan joins a private business group at Stinson that is one of the largest in the Midwest and Rocky Mountain regions. Stinson works with emerging businesses, public companies, and some of the largest privately held companies in the U.S. Stinson attorneys pride themselves on developing long-term relationships with clients, and in addition to delivering legal advice on issues like formation, financing, growth and succession, serve as trusted business counselors.
“Tori is a problem solver. She excels at providing solutions while staying focused on her clients underlying goals. We are very excited to welcome her to our firm and our growing practice,” said Jim Sticha, the chair of the firm’s private business group. “During her time as general counsel she helped make decisions that affected every facet of a company. She knows how to deliver legal advice in a way that encourages businesses to grow and thrive in competitive and rapidly changing industries. Her background will be an asset to our firm and our clients."
