Stacey McClurkin Macklin has joined Stinson LLP's Washington, DC office as of counsel in the Labor, Employment & Employee Benefits Practice Division. McClurkin joins the firm after nearly a decade at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) where she investigated and litigated unfair labor practices and conducted representation cases under the National Labor Relations Act.

McClurkin focuses her practice on traditional labor law matters, and it spans a variety of industries, including public and private higher education entities, local and national corporations and nonprofits, government entities and privately-held businesses.

"Stacey's experience with the NLRB will bring valuable insight to our clients and will enhance our already strong and growing traditional labor law practice," Stinson's Labor, Employment & Employee Benefits Practice Division Co-chair Stephanie Scheck said. Co-chair Richard Pins added, "Her knowledge with a broad range of labor and employment issues will allow her to effectively guide our clients through a myriad of complex and evolving employee relations challenges."

McClurkin has extensive experience advising clients on collective bargaining matters, contract administration and interpretation, grievance handlings and administrative proceedings, negotiating agreements with employers and labor organizations, litigating unfair labor practices and other traditional labor law matters. She is also well-versed on matters concerning Title VII, ADEA, ADA, EPA, GINA, the Pregnancy Discrimination Act and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Additionally, McClurkin has experience handling claims in state and federal courts.

A former NLRB attorney, McClurkin holds in-depth knowledge of the National Labor Relations Act, the Equal Employment Opportunity process, the unionized workplace and other related labor and employee relations matters. This past experience uniquely positions McClurkin to provide clients with vital insight as she guides them toward their business goals while also maintaining desired employee relations.

McClurkin received her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and her B.A. from Spelman College. She is admitted only in Maryland, supervised directly by Bernadette Sargeant, a member of the DC Bar.
