Firm's Chief Diversity Officer Ann Jenrette-Thomas Publishes Column on Self-Promotion for Attorneys of Color

Ann Jenrette-Thomas, the firm's Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer, published a two-part blog post for the Legal Executive Institute on the importance of self-promotion for lawyers of color.

In the piece, Ann explores the challenges that lawyers of color face when it comes sharing their successes. These barriers can be due to race and gender based stereotypes and well as cultural norms. As a result, many lawyers of color are hesitant to promote themselves out of fear of how they will be perceived.

Despite the unique challenges, self-promotion is critical for an attorney's career development and growth.

Ann writes:

"Relying on hard work with the hope that someone will notice and reward you for your efforts is too risky. You risk missing out on opportunities that will advance your career, such as being on pitches, getting great assignments, promotions, and money."
