Brittany Barrientos Named Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Fellow
Stinson Leonard Street Partner Brittany Barrientos has been selected as a 2017 Fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD), a national organization seeking to advance diversity in the legal profession. The LCLD was founded in 2009 to provide a new generation of legal talent with the tools and knowledge to excel by promoting relationship building, self-awareness and leadership skills.
Over the course of the year-long fellowship, each attorney will embark on a learning program that includes in-person conferences, virtual training on the fine points of legal practice, peer-group projects to foster collaboration and build relationships, and extensive contact with LCLD’s top leadership and affiliated managing partners and general counsel. In the past six years more than 1,000 attorneys have completed the Fellows Program.
Barrientos practices in Kansas City and is a member of the firm's Energy, Environmental, Mining and Transportation division. Her practice includes advising clients as to environmental regulatory requirements, environmental permitting, defense of civil and administrative enforcement actions, environmental due diligence for transactions, and educating clients regarding regulatory requirements and strategies for compliance with environmental laws.
She does pro bono work with clients in the Marlborough Neighborhood of Kansas City through the firm's Adopt-a-Neighborhood initiative. She has also volunteers with the Advocates for Human Rights on international policy issues and works with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through its Man/Woman of the Year and Light the Night campaigns.
