MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (Sept. 30, 2016)—Stinson Leonard Street LLP is proud to announce that Jeff Cairns was recently inducted a Fellow in the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel (ACEBC). He was one 13 attorneys from across the country inducted as a Fellow at the ACEBC's recent annual meeting.

ACEBC is a national professional organization of approximately 400 lawyers who have made outstanding contributions to the field of employee benefits law. Attorneys with at least 20 years of experience in the practice are eligible to be selected by the College's board of governors. Fellows demonstrate a sustained commitment to raising public awareness and understanding of benefits law through writing, speaking, public policy analysis, public education and public service while maintaining a high level of professional services to clients, the bar and to the public.

The College was formed in 1999 in recognition of significant legal and social policy issues associated with the regulation and management of pension, retirement, group health, disability and other welfare plans. Its mission is to promote excellence in employee benefits law.

Cairns is a partner in the firm's Minneapolis office. He advises employers on ERISA and employee benefit matters, including qualified and nonqualified pension and profit sharing plans, ESOPs, welfare and fringe benefit plans. He provides technical support to financial advisors, consultants, and third-party administrators of pension and welfare plans. He frequently contributes articles to the firm's employee benefits blog on recent developments in employee benefits law.

He joins four other ACEBC Fellows in the state of Minnesota, including his colleague Angela Bohmann, a partner in Stinson Leonard Street's Minneapolis office.
