Attorney Lariss Maldonado Recognized by the Hispanic National Bar Association
Stinson LLP attorney Lariss Maldonado was recently selected by the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) as a 2020 Top Lawyer Under 40 for her professional accomplishments and dedication to diversity and inclusion in and outside of the firm.
Maldonado is an experienced litigator, having represented clients in state and federal court across the country. Her practice focuses on complex litigation and investigation work for large corporate clients in a range of highly regulated industries. Before joining Stinson, she worked as an associate general counsel at a Fortune 5 company, where she supported the Special Investigations Unit on Fraud, Waste, and Abuse cases.
“Lariss is an excellent litigator and has also set a high standard to personally further our diversity and inclusion efforts firmwide,” said Ann Jenrette-Thomas, chief diversity and inclusion officer. “She is an advocate in so many ways and incredibly committed to advancing opportunities for women and people of color in the legal profession, both locally and nationally.”
In addition to her practice, Maldonado has been selected to the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s 2020 Pathfinders program, designed to equip diverse, high-potential, early-career attorneys with tools to develop and leverage professional networks through relationship building, leadership training and career development. She is a past president of the Minnesota Hispanic Bar Association and was recently appointed to their Judicial Endorsements Committee, where she manages the organization’s rigorous endorsements process. Maldonado also serves on the board of the American Civil Liberties Union of Minnesota and the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Diversity and Inclusion Council.
The HNBA received a record number of 76 applications for this year’s 40 Under 40 class. Honorees were chosen based on professional excellence, integrity, leadership, commitment to the Hispanic community and dedication to improving the legal profession. Those selected will be honored at the HNBA Corporate Counsel Conference on March 20.
