Adine Momoh Named Secretary of Hennepin County Bar Association

Stinson Leonard Street LLP is pleased to announce that Adine Momoh, an attorney in the firm’s business litigation division, was recently named secretary of the Hennepin County Bar Association. In accordance with the HCBA’s bylaws, Momoh will begin a five-year leadership track with the organization, first as secretary from 2015-2016; as treasurer from 2016-2017; as president-elect from 2017-2018; as president from 2018-2019, and finally as immediate past-president from 2019-2020.

Momoh is in line to be the 100th president of the bar association during its 100th anniversary and the latest to follow in a tradition of service to the organization by attorneys from Leonard, Street and Deinard and now Stinson Leonard Street. Attorneys Allen Saeks and Jewelie Grape are past presidents of the bar association. Attorney Tom Nelson is the current president.

Momoh has been involved with the HCBA for some time, most recently serving as the co-chair of the Civil Litigation Section and as a member of the Board of Directors. Her practice includes securities litigation, estates and trust litigation and creditors’ rights and bankruptcy. From 2013-2015, she received the North Star Lawyer designation from the Minnesota State Bar Association for her commitment to pro bono work and received the firm’s 2013 Pro Bono Services to the Indigent award. She was also named a Fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, one of 167 attorneys nationwide. In 2014 she was named one of two finalists for the American Bar Association’s National Outstanding Young Lawyer Award. In that same year, the MSBA honored her with its first-ever Outstanding New Lawyer of the Year Award.

Momoh serves on the boards of the Minnesota Philanthropy Partners, the Saint Paul Foundation, the Minnesota Community Foundation, Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers, the Federal Bar Association National Younger Lawyers Division, the Federal Bar Association’s Minnesota Chapter and the International Women’s Insolvency and Reorganization Confederation–Minnesota Network.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of St. Thomas, summa cum laude, and received her J.D., magna cum laude, from the William Mitchell College of Law.

At more than 8,000 members, the Hennepin County Bar Association is the largest bar association in the state. It works to provide a wide variety of services for members who live and work in Hennepin County.
