Addition of Tricia Kaufman Expands Stinson Leonard Street's FDA Capabilities
Stinson Leonard Street is proud to announce that Tricia Kaufman has joined the firm's health care practice and will practice in the firm's Minneapolis office.
Tricia will significantly expand the firm's capabilities in FDA regulatory and compliance work. In particular, she can share with clients her first-hand experience on the product development and approval process.
She joins the firm from Sterilmed, Inc. (a J&J subsidiary) where she served in a number of leadership roles in strategic planning and regulatory affairs. She was a member of a steering committee that helped the company prioritize new products, projects and market segments to target. She oversaw the review and approval process for new products and was the company's point person with the FDA on compliance issues. During her time at Sterilmed, she also helped develop new data management and product labeling processes.
Prior to that role, Tricia worked in medical device compliance with Medtronic and was a private practice attorney for many years.
She earned her J.D. from the Harvard Law School where she was senior editor for the Journal of Law and Public Policy.
She joins a team at Stinson Leonard Street that counsels all types of clients in the health care industry, including hospitals, multi-hospital systems, health plans, physicians, health insurance companies, long-term care providers, pharmacy benefits managers, medical device manufacturers, pharmacies, pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors, health information technology companies and health-related trade associations. This FDA- focused team is led by Sheva Sanders and Ryan McGary in Minneapolis.
Stinson Leonard Street attorneys provide a broad array of services. They help clients with FDA compliance, fraud and abuse laws compliance, health plan regulation and reorganizations, internal investigations, HIPAA, privacy and confidentiality matters as well as many other issues.
"We are beyond excited welcome Tricia to our firm," said Jack Breviu, the leader of the health care group. "Our clients will benefit immediately from her regulatory affairs and compliance work background. She has dealt first hand with government agencies, shepherded new products through the regulation approval process and conducted internal audits on a host of topics. She brings a wealth of industry knowledge to the firm and shares our commitment to exemplary client service. She will be a great fit with our practice."
