Adam Maier Talks Opportunities for Banks in 2021 with Bank Director
Partner Adam Maier was recently featured by Bank Director on what banks may expect in 2021, despite challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to predictions for the new year, Adam covered capital considerations for banks and regulatory hurdles to growth.
"My advice for prospective buyers is to not just seek out opportunities, but seek them out aggressively," said Adam. "History shows that banks that take a chance in a down economy or when things might not be completely normal, those are the banks that end up with strong growth and excess earnings down the road."
Adam also predicts a stronger appetite for deals than 2020, adding that acquirers will need to be strategic in pursuing targets that align with their business goals.
As co-chair of the firm’s Banking & Financial Services division, Adam focuses his deep knowledge on the business interests and growth strategies of financial institutions and their owners. He advises financial institutions in a broad range of strategic transactions, including buying and selling banks and branches, de novo charters, forming holding companies, raising capital and reorganizations.
