Aalok Sharma Quoted in Story on Virtual Reality in Sports
Stinson Leonard Street attorney Aalok Sharma is quoted in this Minnesota Business magazine story on the potential of virtual reality and artificial intelligence in business and sports. These technologies are already billion dollar businesses, and they are growing.
Aalok talks specifically about the possibilities for the AI and VR in professional and college sports. He says athletes can use virtual reality to train and get in extra practice time without fear of injury.
Fans will drive much of the expansion of AI and VR in sports, Aalok predicts, because the technology can bring fans closer to the action, without having to leave leaving their living rooms. Fans will soon be able to customize in-stadium experience by choosing a premium fixed “seat” or toggling between vantage points without waiting for a TV producer to switch your view.
“Why should I spend $200 for a sketchy in-person experience when I can spend, say, $25 for a realistic at-home experience?” Aalok said.
Aalok is an attorney in the firm's Minneapolis office. His practice includes general business litigation, construction, and products liability. He is also a member of the firm's sports and entertainment business practice group.
