Four Stinson Attorneys Named "Attorney of the Year" by Minnesota Lawyer

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (February 13, 2019)—Stinson LLP congratulates attorneys Adine Momoh, Rob Kugler, Ed Caldie and Brittany Michael on being named "Attorneys of the Year" by Minnesota Lawyer.

For the past 19 years, the publication has honored top attorneys throughout Minnesota for their notable achievements and leadership in the profession. Momoh is being honored individually for her achievements in 2018, and Kugler, Caldie and Michael are recognized as a group for their work representing the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors, made up of hundreds of survivors of clergy sexual abuse, in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis bankruptcy case.

These four and their fellow honorees are being recognized today by Minnesota Lawyer at a ceremony at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Minneapolis.

Adine Momoh
Momoh represents clients in complex business litigation proceedings involving banks and securities, estates and trusts, and bankruptcy and creditors’ rights in a wide variety of industries in courts throughout the country. She has been recognized locally and nationally for her community involvement, public service and professional achievements. In 2018, she became president of the Hennepin County Bar Association during its 100th anniversary, as the first black woman and youngest attorney ever to preside over the 8,000-member organization. Momoh also serves on the board of directors for the Federal Bar Association, International Women’s Insolvency and Reorganization Confederation (IWIRC) –Minnesota Network and The Saint Paul and Minnesota Community Foundations.

Robert Kugler
Kugler has represented clients in bankruptcy protection and litigation matters for more than two decades. The work of Kugler and his team directly led to the record setting $210 million settlement in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis bankruptcy case and the fair treatment of thousands of survivors throughout the country.

Ed Caldie
Caldie's practice centers on complex bankruptcy matters as well as workout scenarios, insolvency situations and related disputes. He routinely counsels Fortune 500 companies and financial institutions in a variety of Chapter 11 bankruptcies, civil lawsuits, commercial disputes and negotiations.

Brittany Michael
Michael delivers a variety of legal solutions to creditors' committees, commercial creditors and others in complex bankruptcies, workout scenarios, insolvency situations and related circumstances and disputes. She has successfully represented unsecured creditors' committees and large commercial creditors in complex Chapter 11 cases nationwide.
