Zane Gilmer to Present -  Bloomberg BNA "Marijuana in Colorado: Advanced Tax, Legal and Accounting Considerations"

Zane Gilmer will present at the Bloomberg BNA "Marijuana in Colorado: Advanced Tax, Legal and Accounting Considerations" conference on December 2, 2015.  This two-day event, beginning on December 1, will be take place at the Denver Athletic Club in downtown Denver.

Zane will be co-presenting with Rober McVay of Harris Moure and Mark Goldfogel of Fourth Corner Credit Union during Session 4: Banking Issues. This session will give a brief overview of federal guidance from the Department of Justice and FinCEN, including the impact that guidance has on marijuana businesses, to date, and those financial institutions that have taken advantage of that guidance.

Zane Gilmer focuses his practice on complex business litigation, white collar crime and investigations, and regulatory compliance. He regularly represents clients in state and federal courts and arbitration forums across the country. Zane is also a regular author and speaker on emerging litigation and compliance trends, which include compliance issues related to the marijuana industry. He has also represented and advised companies from various industries including financial services, technology, construction, real estate, and higher education on the compliance and litigation challenges related to doing business with marijuana-related entities. He was one of only a handful of lawyers, and the only private practice lawyer, who successfully argued before the Colorado Supreme Court to change the Colorado Rules of Professional Conduct, which rules govern attorney conduct, to permit lawyers to advise companies and individuals on marijuana-related laws and regulations.
