Tom Dowling to Speak at Missouri Bankers Association Seminar
Tom Dowling will be a featured speaker at the upcoming Missouri Bankers Association (MBA) Employment and Benefits Law Seminar Aug. 16, 2016 at the Courtyard by Marriot in Columbia, Mo.
Tom's presentation is entitled "Hot Topics in Employee Benefits— ACA, HIPAA, Audits, Retirement Plans."
The seminar is of interest to human resources officers, supervisors, CEOs, chief financial officers, benefit specialists and bank counsel. Presenters from throughout the state will address topics on the Affordable Care Act, HIPAA audits and retirement plans; new overtime rule from U.S. Department of Labor; federal contractor compliance programs and EEOC pay transparency reporting; liability in harassment and discrimination cases; Americans with Disabilities Act, Family Medical Leave Act and workers' comp; National Labor Relations Board actions affecting all employees; and cultural and motivational fit.
Tom is a partner in the firm's Kansas City office. He is the primary attorney responsible for advising firm clients on Health Care Reform implementation and compliance. His practice focuses on the creation, ongoing administration and regulatory compliance of health and welfare benefit plans and retirement plans for public, private and tax-exempt organizations.
