Stinson Hosts "Ethical Pitfalls in Settling Mass Tort and Class Actions" CLE in Minneapolis
Stinson Leonard Street LLP is hosting a one-hour roundtable discussion presented by the by the Minnesota Federal Bar Association Mass Tort and Class Action Practice Group starting at 4 p.m. Nov. 1, 2017 at the firm's Minneapolis office.
Panelists for "Ethical Pitfalls in Settling Mass Tort and Class Actions" include the Hon. David Schultz, Magistrate Judge for the U.S. District Court, District of Minnesota; Susan Humiston, the Director of the Minnesota Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility and Client Securities Board and legal ethics attorney Charles Lundberg.
There is a uniquely active mass tort and class action practice in Minnesota. The District of Minnesota consistently ranks among the top districts in the 8th Circuit and the country by number of mass tort related actions. The overwhelming majority of these actions are settled, and the lawyers who try to accomplish settlement face difficult ethical questions. The roundtable discussion will address key ethical considerations and practical solutions to these issues.
