Speaking Engagement

Stinson Leonard Street LLP attorney Scott Hecht will be a featured speaker at the upcoming American College of Coverage and Extracontractual Counsel (ACCEC) Annual Meeting May 4-6, 2016 at the Sheraton Grand hotel in Chicago.

Scott's presentation is entitled "Reps & Warranties Insurance: A Primer and Selected Advanced Issues." Global M&A deals set a record in 2015 and as the volume continues to increase, warranties insurance is becoming more popular. Hecht's program will explain basic product features, the process involved in purchasing and integrating the product in a deal, and more complex issues.

The ACCEC was founded in 2012 and is composed of coverage and extracontractual attorneys in the United States and Canada, representing the interests of both insurers and policyholders. The ACCEC is focused on the creative, ethical and efficient adjudication of insurance coverage and extracontractual disputes, peer-provided scholarship, professional coordination and the improvement of the relationship between and among our diverse members.

Scott is a partner in the firm's Kansas City office and a leader of the firm's insurance litigation practice group. He advises clients about insurance issues and litigates insurance and employee benefits disputes. Executive liability insurance policies and Property/Business Interruption policies are Scott’s primary focus, but he also has substantial experience handling matters involving general liability insurance, pollution liability insurance, title insurance, cyber insurance, and fidelity bonds. Scott also has substantial experience defending ERISA claims involving both pension and welfare benefit plans. He is an elected fellow in the ACCEC.
