Scott Filmore to present to Missouri Bar Annual Estate & Trust Institute
Scott Filmore will present at the Missouri Bar Annual Estate and Trust Institute this fall. The 2015 Institute will emphasize recent developments, including those in federal estate and gift tax law, Missouri probate, power of attorney and trust law, retirement asset planning, fiduciary litigation and asset protection planning.
The presentation "Unwinding Dated Estate Plans," is Friday, September 25 at the Sheraton Westport Lakeside Chalet, St. Louis, Missouri and Friday, October 23 at The Broadway Hotel in Columbia, Missouri.
Remember all of the wills and trusts with estate tax planning that you prepared for clients in the 1990’s and 2000’s? Many of these may contain provisions which are not only unnecessary, but a hindrance and/or headache to the surviving spouse and children of your clients. Scott will discuss how to deal with this practically.
Scott's practice is concentrated in estate planning, trust and estate administration, and trust and estate-related litigation. Scott helps clients structure and carry out plans for the transfer of wealth and counsels and defends trust and estate fiduciaries in carrying out their fiduciary duties and powers.
