Minnesota's New Responsible Contractor Act: What You Need to Know

Firm Events
09.30.2014

Stinson Leonard Street invites you to join us on Tuesday, September 30, 2014, in Mankato, for " Minnesota's New Responsible Contractor Act: What You Need to Know " presented by Stinson Leonard Street construction attorneys Bob Huber and Ben Eastburn

In this informative session, Bob and Ben will prepare attendees for the dramatic public contracting changes being implemented on January 1, 2015, when The Responsible Contractor Act takes effect.

The upcoming changes are the most significant legislation affecting the construction industry in the past 30 years. This new state law makes contractors ineligible to bid for most public contracts if they have been found to have violated wage and hour laws within the three years before bidding. To assure compliance, the law imposes bidders to include sworn affidavits that they are in compliance with the laws; and subcontractors must also provide the prime contractors with same sworn affidavits with their sub-bids. Owners and contractors need to be prepared.
