How to Avoid Paying Twice
If cash-strapped contractors, subcontractors and suppliers haven't paid all their bills they can leave their customers exposed to paying twice. Lenders or the unpaid subcontractor or supplier to these firms often ask their customer to sign documents that promise that the lender, subcontractor or vendor will be paid, even if the contractor or subcontractor hasn't done its work right, or there are liens threatened or filed by subs or suppliers.
Join Stinson partner Sherman Botts on September 20 where he will explain how you can lessen your exposure through effective contracting, monitoring systems and options when monies still do not reach the intended recipients.
Sherman will present live from our Kansas City office with videoconferencing of the session to our Minneapolis, Denver Tech Center, St. Louis and Washington, DC offices.
