Hot Topics in Legal Ethics 2016 Session
Join guest speakers, Benjamin P. Cooper, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Frank Montague, Jr., Professor of Legal Studies and Professionalism University of Mississippi School of Law. This presentation covers four hot topics in the field of legal ethics:
- Ethical Withdrawal -- What you should do if a client stops communicating, stops paying the bills, or a conflict arises?
- The Future of Legal Services -- A discussion on The Future of Legal Services commissions' work and critical issues facing the legal profession.
- Lawyer Liability for Aiding and Abetting Clients’ Misconduct -- It’s your job to advise the client to minimize or avoid liability. But what is the line between lawful advice and tortious or even criminal conduct? A review of situations when legal advice turns into a liability for the attorney.
- Ethical Use of Social Media -- A review on how to contend with social media in your practice without running afoul of your ethical duties.
The session will be held in our St. Louis office on Wednesday, June 29 from 8-10 a.m. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m.
