Ernie Panasci to Speak on Mergers of Equals at Bankers Conference
Ernie Panasci will speak on mergers of equals at the Western Independent Bankers Annual Conference at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Ernie will present at 8:15 a.m. March 29, 2017. Competition, regulatory costs and operating expenses are causing banks to consider strategic business combinations to effectively compete in today's banking environment. Many banks, in an attempt to achieve a desired minimum asset size, are considering strategic combinations, commonly referred to as "Mergers of Equals". This session will examine strategic combinations and the financial benefits that can be achieved, the cultural considerations in evaluating such a transaction and the duties of boards of directors and management in entertaining these strategic combinations.
Ernie is a partner in the firm's Denver office. He practices in the areas of financial institutions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate law and counsels financial institutions about federal and state banking matters and related securities law and financing issues.
