Alisa Ehrlich to Present via Webinar on Colorado's New Affirmation of Legal Work Status Form (effective 10/1/2014)
Please join Stinson Leonard Street on Tuesday, September 30 for an informative live webinar to discuss Colorado employers' compliance with immigration laws and implementation of the new mandatory Affirmation of Legal Work Status form employers must start using on October 1, 2014. Alisa Ehrlich will cover the requirements of the law, how to avoid fines, and how to quickly become compliant.
Employers failing to follow the Colorado employment verification laws (with "reckless disregard") could be subject to a fine of up to $5,000 for a first offense, and up to $25,000 for second and subsequent offenses.
