Amy Conway, Stephanie Scheck to Present on Affirmative Action Programs at Upper Midwest Employment Law Institute
Stinson Leonard Street partners Stephanie Scheck and Amy Conway will present at the 2018 Upper Midwest Employment Law Institute May 21-22, 2018 at the St. Paul River Centre in St. Paul, Minn. The institute is co-sponsored by Minnesota CLE, the MSBA Labor & Employment Law Section and the Twin Cities Society for Human Resource Management.
At 1:30 p.m. May 21, Stephanie and Amy will present "Affirmative Action Programs That Withstand OFCCP Scrutiny." The session will discuss best practices for preparing and implementing affirmative action programs that will get a company through an OFCCP audit. With OFCCP gearing up again in 2018, it's important for contractors to make sure their AAPs are audit-ready. This session will discuss best practices for preparing and implementing affirmative action programs that will get a company through an OFCCP audit.
Amy is a partner in the firm's Minneapolis office. She advises businesses of all sizes on employment law issues, including issues under the Fair Labor Standards Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Minnesota Human Rights Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, affirmative action programs, Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs audits and related state-level audits, employee handbooks, employment contracts, separation agreements, and noncompetition agreements.
Stephanie is the co-chair of the firm's Labor, Employment and Employee Benefits group. She practices in Wichita. She has significant litigation experience and has several specialty practice areas including representing clients in OFCCP Affirmative Action Plan audits and claims before the Department of Labor. She provides consulting, training and audits on a variety of employment law compliance issues, including consultation in the development and implementation of affirmative action plans, diversity programs, personnel policies and procedures.
