Public Utilities Fortnightly has named Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP Partner Kelly Daly to its list of Top 25 Utility Lawyers of 2011. Fortnightly, a publication for the electric, natural gas, water and telecommunications, accepted nominations from executives and regulators in the U.S. utility industry to identify lawyers at the forefront of the legal area. Fortnightly's editorial staff selects the top lawyers based on the number of nominations and nominees' achievements in the industry. Kelly, head of Stinson's Energy, Environmental and Telecommunications Division, was chosen for her outstanding excellence in the legal field and work in federal and state regulation, compliance and litigation in the utility industry. Her practice focuses on natural gas, electric and oil industry matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the Federal Appellate Courts. She began her practice as an Attorney Advisor to the Office of Administrative Law Judges at the FERC. Kelly has served on the executive committee of the North American Energy Standards Board for more than a decade and is routinely listed in The Best Lawyers in America and Washington, D.C. Super Lawyers for energy law.
