Staff Position(s):
Title:Hospitality Attendant
Office:Kansas City
Description:

This position is responsible for maintaining all of the conference and coffee rooms, lunchroom, lounge and guest offices in the Kansas City office. The Attendant will work individually as well as with their team to ensure the best possible services are delivered to the firm and its clients.

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

·         High school diploma or equivalent.

·         Minimum 1 year office experience.

·         Strong organizational skills.

·         Strong attention to detail.

·         Able to routinely bend, squat, reach, lift items up to 20 pounds and able to push cart of up to 50 pounds.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

1.     Provides services for conference rooms, including set-ups, clean-ups, inventories, and stocking of supplies within each meeting room.

2.     Maintains upkeep of coffee rooms, including clean-ups, inventories, and stocking of supplies (As of January 1, 2010, the number of meeting rooms is 22, and the number of coffee rooms is 7).

3.     Performs responsibilities similar to those above for the Lawyer Lounge, Lunchroom, and Guest Offices.

4.     Position is also involved in cleaning private offices for new hires or internal relocations.  Office-wide moves including Kansas City or Corporate Woods also require cleaning services.  Upon request, supplemental cleaning services may be required.

5.     This position may require site visits to Corporate Woods, to work with local staff to help ensure continuity in services and procedures.

Title:Business Continuity Administrator

Description:

The Business Continuity Administrator assists, educates, documents, and audits the business continuity components at Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

·         High school degree or equivalent is required.

·         Minimum four years experience in IT field.

·         Minimum one year experience with business continuity best practices methodologies.

·         Previous experience implementing disaster recovery plans.

·         Excellent communication and customer service skills.

·         Good analytical skills.

·         Careful attention to detail.

·         Law Firm experience a plus.

·         ABCP or CBCP certification a plus.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.     Deliver excellent customer service to firm attorneys and personnel.

2.     Be an advocate of Business Continuity, Security and IT to Attorneys and staff.

3.     Maintain business priority while balancing various roles in multiple projects.

4.     Work with various business areas analyzing and translating their functions into business continuity requirements, then assist in developing strategies to ensure business needs are met.

5.     Assist the business unit in assessing the overall impact of a disaster to the business.

6.     Keep current of business continuity technologies, regulations and solutions.

7.     Audit business continuity plans and processes to verify their stated business continuity goals.

8.     Respond to disaster events as appropriate.

9.     Work with 3rd parties as part of overall business continuity strategy.

10.  Log all help requests in Help Desk ticket tracking database.

11.          Other duties as assigned.

Title:Professional Development Manager
Office:Kansas City
Description:

This position is responsible for creating and implementing programs and projects both locally and firm-wide, to further the long-term professional development of the firm's attorneys.  The Manager will work with the firm's management to help attorneys practice law effectively, earn their CLE credits efficiently, build relationships between partners and associates, and foster strong firm community.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

·         BA or BS degree required.

·         5+ years working in a professional services firm; law firm experience preferred especially in training, development, marketing or recruiting.

·         Demonstrated project management skills required.

·         Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required; knowledge of all MS Office products strongly preferred.

·         Proven ability to communicate effectively and professionally with lawyers, managers and staff is required.

·         Ability to organize assignments, work under pressure and meet deadlines.

·         Maintain a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality to personnel matters.

·         High degree of attention to detail.

·         Strong interpersonal, communication and technical skills required.

·         Ability to travel to other offices, as needed.

·         Ability to work after hours and remotely as needed.

  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

1.       Attorney Training

·         Assist in the implementation of the firm-wide strategic direction for attorney education and development consistent with the firm's objectives.

·         Development of substantive skills training programs, nationally and regionally, live and technological, that meet professional and business goals.

·         Create and implement databases to track the quality and quantity of attorney development opportunities.

·         Initiate and develop strong relations with Practice Division Chairs and Attorneys.

·         Work with the Director of Professional Development, Associate Development Committee and the Associate Evaluation Committee to support firm policy decisions relating to lawyer training and development.

·         Work with the Technology Department to identify resources available to maximize effectiveness of in-house programs.

·         Assess attorney training and development needs on a routine basis and make recommendations.

2.     Career Path Programming and Coaching

·         Work with Practice Division Chairs to monitor Associate progress in the area of division core competencies and career paths.

·         Work with Director of Professional Development, Practice Division Chairs and Associate Development Committee on Associate Core Series Training Programs.

·         Promote a work environment that helps attorneys reach their highest potential.

3.     Other Duties

·         Responsible for updating the budget database, managing general ledger numbers, and ensuring expenses stay within budget.

·         Be willing and available to work on additional training and development projects, as well as to design, introduce and support new initiatives.

·         Assist with developing the annual professional development budget.

·         Collaborate and support the Coordinator of Professional Memberships and CLE with compliance and programming matters.

·         Participate in professional association activities for professional development.

·         Other tasks related to professional development as they arise.
