Ted is a member of Stinson's Employee Benefits Division. He works on a broad range of issues in the areas of compensation and benefits, including compliance with tax laws and other laws that apply to 401(k)s and other defined contribution plans, traditional defined benefit pension plans, cash balance plans, employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs), non-qualified deferred compensation and section 409A, equity compensation, executive compensation, medical and welfare plans, and COBRA continuation coverage. Ted advises on ERISA compliance, including fiduciary duty compliance and prohibited transaction rules and exemptions. He works with the firm's corporate finance attorneys on employee benefit and compensation issues that affect corporate mergers and acquisitions.
Ted works with employers of all sizes from large, publicly traded companies to small, closely held businesses. Ted joined Stinson in 2006 after relocating from Chicago. His experience with employee benefits includes seven years working as a benefit plan consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, L.L.P., focusing primarily on defined contribution plans.
