Scott has been in private practice since 1994 and joined Stinson Morrison Hecker’s Omaha office in 2003. He is a member of the firm’s General Business Group and currently serves on the firm's Policy Committee. He has extensive experience serving as general counsel to many local and regional closely-held businesses, advising them on matters such as entity formation, corporate law, contract law, real estate law, business succession and secured credit transactions. His business transactional experience has included all types of asset, stock, corporate, limited liability and partnership mergers, acquisitions and reorganizations.

Scott also has extensive experience in representing developers, property owners, property purchasers and tenants in real estate development projects, leasing matters, real estate transactions and real estate finance.

Representative Experience

Extensive experience representing and counseling residential and commercial real estate developers in both corporate and real estate related legal matters.
Has counseled clients in more than $300 million worth of mergers and acquisitions.
Has successfully represented clients in more than $7 million worth of property tax protests.
Advises clients on all issues relating to the formation of businesses, entity selection and liability protection.
Assists business and individual clients in transactional, business planning and operational aspects of their business.

Of Note

Prior to joining Stinson Morrison Hecker, Scott was in solo practice for nearly six years, where he managed the business aspects of a law office as well as maintaining his professional practice. As a result, Scott has a unique perspective and understanding of the issues affecting small businesses.
