Rich's experience includes real estate transactions, tax incentives, special district formation and administration, government relations and financial services.

He often works with national and international job retention and expansion projects, as well as relocation activities in Missouri and Kansas. Some of Rich's clients include Blue Beacon International, Applebee's International and Data Systems International.

Experience

Rich has successfully negotiated numerous real estate transactions, including the purchase and sale of property, and has experience drafting and negotiating leases, subleases and agreements for all types of properties.

Committed to community development, Rich has structured tax and economic development incentives for urban infill and redevelopment projects and assisted clients with land use planning and zoning matters.

Rich has successfully presented tax abatement proposals for a multi-family housing and office project before the Planned Industrial Expansion Authority of Kansas City and the Land Clearance Redevelopment Authority.

Notably, Rich assisted Cerner Corporation in the site acquisition, zoning and development of its planned four million-square-foot office campus in Kansas City.

Client-focused, he was able to increase project revenue for multiple clients by directing the formation and administration of special taxing districts, such as community improvement and transportation development districts.

Rich is also committed to public service, serving as co-chair for the firm’s pro bono representation of the Marlborough Community Coalition, a neighborhood in Kansas City’s urban core. Rich works with the community on vital economic development projects and affordable housing initiatives that are helping to transform and revitalize the community.
