Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP Partner Robyn Nordin Stowell authored the article "Five Reasons to Update Your Bylaws: And Easy Ways to Do It" in the Spring 2012 issue of Club Director magazine.
The article highlights the importance of understanding club bylaws and reviewing these bylaws annually. Stowell discusses five main areas when reviewing bylaws:
Club Director is the National Club Association's (NCA) quarterly magazine for professional and volunteer private club leaders. It provides business, legal, legislative and industry trends for educating club members.
Stowell has unique experience in golf course and private club matters. She represents private clubs, developers and member groups in the purchase, sale and financing of golf and club assets, and turnovers in master-planned communities. Stowell has served on the board of the NCA since 2006 and was recently re-elected to serve a second three-year term for the board of directors.
