01/12/2010
In Missouri, 2010 is not a real property reassessment year. With limited exceptions (primarily in cases of new construction), the value as determined on January 1, 2009 will remain the same for 2010. However, parties continue to have the right to appeal valuations in 2010.
If you own Missouri real property, such as an office building, retail establishment, apartments, residential property, vacant or undeveloped land, you may want to review your property assessment value. If you think your value is wrong, resulting in a tax bill that is too high, you should consider an appeal in 2010. Now is the time to commence the process.
The Stinson Morrison Hecker Property Tax Issues and Valuation Appeals Group has the necessary experience and qualifications to handle 2010 appeals. Please contact any of the attorneys in the Property Tax Issues and Valuation Appeals Group for more information.
