Stinson's attorneys have represented oil and gas clients in royalty owner disputes, including both individual claims and class action lawsuits, title and land disputes, joint interest owner disputes, and multiple other contract and commercial litigation and arbitration matters.

Federal Regulation & Regulatory Litigation

• Oil Regulation

  Stinson's attorneys routinely represent and advise clients on issues related to the rates, terms and conditions of service for the transportation and/or storage of crude oil and petroleum products, including the pro-rationing of capacity. These issues usually involve interstate matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) but also can involve intrastate issues in various states.

• Natural Gas Regulation

  Stinson's attorneys advise and represent clients regularly before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in cases involving the rates and the terms and conditions of service charged by natural gas pipelines and storage facilities. These proceedings routinely involve issues of cost of service, cost allocation and rate design. In addition, Stinson advises, counsels and represents clients on compliance related matters.

  We represent refineries and chemical manufacturers, marketing and transportation companies, natural gas local distribution companies and propane marketing companies.

  We represent owners and operators of onshore and offshore crude oil, natural gas and refined petroleum products pipelines (including those crossing international borders), natural gas gathering systems, natural gas storage facilities and treatment and processing plants.

  We work with clients involved with the exploration, development and production of oil and natural gas properties, as well as oilfield service companies.
