Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP announces the addition of Timothy M. Swanson to its Kansas City, Mo. office. He joins the firm's Bankruptcy & Creditors' Rights Division as an associate. He has experience representing secured mortgage lenders in Chapter 11 cases, commercial foreclosures and bankruptcy adversary proceedings. Recently, Swanson was selected for Illinois Rising Stars 2012 by Illinois Super Lawyers, a rating service publication. Swanson's previous legal experience includes working for the Chicago-based firm of Deutsch, Levy & Engel. Shortly after law school, he clerked for the Kansas Corporation Commission's litigation division in Topeka, Kan. Swanson received an LL.M. in Taxation from the Northwestern University School of Law in 2010 and a J.D. in 2009 from the University of Kansas School of Law. While in law school he was named Recipient of the American Bankruptcy Institute's Medal of Excellence, as selected by the faculty. He also received his B.A. from KU in 2005.
