Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP has elected seven new partners, effective Jan. 1, 2011. The selected attorneys practice in the firm's Kansas City, Mo., St. Louis, Mo., and Wichita, Kan., offices and include:
Kyle E. Foote is a member of the firm's environment and natural resources division. His practice includes matters under all environmental laws. He focuses on managing environmental risk and regulatory compliance, business and real estate transactions, permitting and agency settlement negotiations. He represents the manufacturing, banking, utility, propane/petroleum and mining industries. Foote earned a J.D. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1990 and a master of studies in environmental law and policy from Vermont Law School.
Timothy Laycock is a member of the firm's real estate division. He represents clients in a variety of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions and sales, financing, joint ventures, and leasing of all major property types. Laycock was recently accredited by the Green Building Certification Institute as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP). He received his J.D. from the University of Missouri in 2003.
George F. Verschelden is a member of the firm's business litigation division. His practice includes commercial litigation, products liability and employment matters, and encompasses all aspects of the litigation process, from motion practice to discovery to trials. He represents clients in a variety of fields, including consumer credit, telecommunications, banking and lending, health care and pharmaceuticals. Verschelden earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia in 2003.
Jamie L. Boyer is a member of the litigation division. She represents clients in a variety of complex and commercial litigation matters, including breach of contract claims, tort actions, environmental litigation, ERISA matters and toxic tort disputes. As a member of the education litigation practice group, she is actively involved in cases challenging the adequacy of public education in multiple states. Boyer earned a J.D. from the University of Illinois in 2003.
Cicely I. Lubben is a member of the business litigation division, focusing on commercial litigation, products liability and employment law. Her practice includes litigating contract disputes on behalf of banking clients and representing clients in employment discrimination claims, employment contracts, noncompetition agreements, executive compensation and business torts. She also represents clients in various toxic tort disputes, including claims related to welding rods and food flavorings. Lubben earned a J.D. from St. Louis University in 2002.
Thomas B. Smallwood is a member of the real estate division. His practice includes representing real estate investment trusts, financial institutions, and commercial and residential real estate developers, owners and tenants in connection with a variety of real estate and commercial lending matters. He also maintains a substantial general business practice. Smallwood received his J.D. from Washington University in 2003.
Alisa Nickel Ehrlich is a member of the firm's business litigation division. Her practice focuses on business disputes, health care and employment law, including prosecuting and defending claims arising from restrictive covenants in employment and sale-of-business contracts. She also regularly litigates contract disputes and works with health care clients on a variety of issues. Ehrlich earned a J.D. from the University of Kansas in 1995.
