Stinson Attorney Michael C. Manning was interviewed by the ABA Journal regarding the recent Maricopa courthouse showdown. Manning, who has secured multi-million dollar settlements and awards in several lawsuits against Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, offered his perspective on the showdown over Arpaio's abuse of power.
Manning, a business litigation partner and office managing partner of the firm's Phoenix office, achieved an $8.25 million settlement in 2000 against Joe Arpaio and the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) - the largest-ever wrongful death and civil rights settlement in the history of Arizona. In early 2006, Mike and his trial team achieved a $9 million federal court verdict against the MCSO and Maricopa County in another wrongful death case.
