Stinson attorney Harvey Reiter will be a featured speaker at the Electric Utility Consultants, Inc. (EUCI) Conference on "Renewable Energy M&A Transactions – A Practitioners Guide." The conference will be held December 5 - 6, 2011, in San Diego, Calif. Reiter will speak at the opening session on Tuesday, December 6. His presentation, "Federal Regulatory Approvals: What's Required," will focus on the federal level, including FERC, Federal Antitrust and Foreign Ownership issues. The EUCI conference addresses the key issues involved in the financial, operational and transactional structures when planning and positioning a renewable or energy efficiency business for merger or acquisition. Presentations will break down the current regulatory approval process, provide important lessons on seemingly abstract issues such as intellectual property, and address key benchmarks needed to attract utility and power industry-based acquisition prospects. Reiter is a partner in the firm's Washington D.C. office. He represents clients in the natural gas, electric utility and communications industries. Prior to joining Stinson, Reiter was a staff attorney and then later Special Assistant to the Deputy General Counsel for Litigation with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. He graduated with his J.D. in 1975 from Boston University and his B.A. in Economics in 1972 from Michigan State University.
