Stinson Attorney to Present at ESOP Association's Fall Conference

Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP Partner Phil McKnight, along with Pam Hill of Commerce Bank and Steve York of Stern Brothers Valuation Advisors, will present ESOP Basics – Legal/Tax/Finance/Valuation at the Heart of America Chapter of the ESOP Association's 11^th Annual Fall Conference on Aug. 26, 2010.

The presentation will provide a basic understanding of the general legal, tax, financing and valuation aspects of employee stock ownership programs. Topics include: 1) comparing and contrasting ESOPs with other retirement plans; 2) describing the legal framework in which ESOPs exist; 3) discussing financing alternatives; 4) addressing the tax benefits ESOPs offer to selling shareholders, the sponsoring company and employees; and 5) the importance of the annual valuation report, what it contains and how stock value it determined.

The conference will take place at The Kauffman Conference Center in Kansas City, Mo. McKnight will speak from 8:45 a.m. to 10 a.m.
