Michael L. Parrish

Mike has extensive complex litigation, trial and arbitration experience. His practice focuses on class actions, securities litigation, insurance coverage and bad faith, professional liability, director and officer liability, shareholder derivative suits, and a variety of business torts and contract disputes. Mike also has considerable experience in wrongful death and serious personal injury suits. He practices regularly in federal and state courts, and has won jury trials in several jurisdictions, as well as arbitrations before the AAA and NASD. In addition to his litigation practice, Mike has substantial experience conducting internal corporate investigations and advising clients on corporate governance matters.

• Hired as new counsel to obtain post-trial relief following adverse verdict of $45 million. Obtained new trial on damages. New-trial order affirmed on appeal.
• Hired as new counsel to obtain relief from $25 million punitive damages judgment. Obtained order on appeal vacating judgment for punitive damages. 
• Insurance coverage counsel for plaintiff in the recovery of $12 million from insurers for damage to State trust land.
• Successfully defended bad-faith suit arising out of $60 million verdict.
• Successfully defended bid-protest action involving the award of $1 billion public contract.
• Defeated certification of consumer fraud class action brought against a governmental entity and a national convenience store chain.
• Recovered $3.25 million in legal-malpractice suit arising out of securities opinions.
• Recovered $1.7 million for former owners of Arizona company in securities-fraud action arising out of reverse-triangular stock merger. Affirmed by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
• Obtained summary judgment for product manufacturer in wrongful death suit. Affirmed on appeal.
• As co-counsel, obtained dismissal of putative class-action antitrust suit brought on behalf of indirect purchasers.
