Matt specializes in contract-related litigation and currently spends the majority of his time litigating matters in the oil and gas, insurance and financial services industries, often in the class action context. He has been involved in a wide range of business litigation. Matt has experience litigating all sorts of breach of contract disputes, oil and gas royalty underpayment lawsuits, credit card claims, mortgage fraud disputes, crop insurance lawsuits, tortuous interference claims, misrepresentation and fraud lawsuits, breach of fiduciary duty claims, shareholder disputes, securities fraud and racketeering claims, antitrust lawsuits, employment discrimination claims and trademark and copyright lawsuits. He has successfully handled numerous cases in both state and federal courts across the country and successfully tried several cases to arbitration panels. In the past few years, clients have asked Matt to advise them on a wide range of non-litigation or potential litigation matters, including functioning as their outside general counsel.
Matt is involved in a number of not-for-profit organizations and activities, mostly focused on helping disadvantaged children or creating a strong and vibrant urban core.
