Larry has extensive experience in finance and real estate law and the negotiation, drafting and implementation of real estate and loan documentation, including conduit financing, as well as in general business law. He represents banks, savings and loan associations, mortgage companies, pension and insurance companies, and loan servicers, as well as developers. Loans include security ranging from office and industrial buildings and shopping centers, to golf courses, resorts, hotels, motels, condominiums and apartments to mobile home parks, subdivisions and raw land. Real estate matters include acquisitions and dispositions, development, construction and leasing, as well as workouts and trustee’s sales. Larry works with both commercial and residential condominiums, as well as mixed use developments, and residential subdivisions.

Representative Experience

Representation of CMBS Special Servicers in loan workouts, including receiverships and sales out of receiverships, trustee’s sales, forbearance agreements, assumptions and modifications, deeds in lieu, as well as note sales and post-trustee sale property dispositions
Representation of real estate fund in numerous loan transactions, as well as $50 million equity infusion
Representation of independent contractor consultant to USAF in documentation of military housing privatization projects in nine states
Representation of developer in office, industrial and hotel project on tribal leasehold land in Arizona
Representation of Arizona State Parks Foundation as pro bono counsel, assisting with the establishment of the Foundation in 2004 as a 501(c)(3) entity and working with the Foundation and “Friends” groups around the state in support of the State Parks systems as it faces increasing economic challenges

Of Note

Larry served on active duty with the USAF as a judge advocate from 1970-77, and as a reservist from 1977-98, and retired with the rank of colonel.

Community Involvement

Larry is counsel to the Arizona State Parks Foundation. He formerly held the position of Chairman of Military Affairs Committee of the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce and previously served as President of the Madison School District Educational Foundation, and is a founding board member of the Foundation, as well as the Phoenix City Club. He was a member of the National Schools Committee of Princeton University, and is an alumnus of Valley Leadership (Class V), and he organized the College Mentor Program at Brophy College Preparatory. Larry is also a former member of the Advisory Board of U.S. Bank (Arizona).
