Jarrod joined Stinson’s Wichita, Kan., office in 2006 as an associate. He is a member of the Business Litigation and Property Tax Appeal Divisions. He represents clients in a variety of business litigation matters, including construction disputes, employment discrimination, and real estate litigation. Jarrod's primary focus has been in the area of Kansas property tax appeal, representing clients before the Kansas Court of Tax Appeals and the state courts on issues relating to real and personal property valuation and equalization, and on tax exemption matters. Prior to joining the firm, he was a judicial law clerk for Judge Donald W. Bostwick, U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas, in Wichita. His primary responsibilities included legal research, drafting orders and memoranda, monitoring caseload, and managing pending motions. Jarrod was also a student law clerk for Judge Janice Miller Karlin, Bankruptcy Judge, in the U.S. District Court from 2003 to 2004. Jarrod mentored under the now-retired Bob O'Connor, who was one of the preeminent property tax attorneys in Kansas for many decades prior to his retirement.
In his many years as a trial attorney, Jarrod has represented both taxpayers and taxing jurisdictions in various property-related disputes.
