Dave is chair of the firm's Environment & Natural Resources Group and has assisted a variety of business clients with environmental enforcement, permitting and transactional issues. Prior to joining the firm, Dave was Regional Counsel, United States Environmental Protection Agency, Region VII, where he worked for 16 years. He is a fellow in the American College of Environmental Lawyers.

Representative Experience

Dave has represented electric utility, pipeline, manufacturing and other companies in Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act and Superfund cases. He has worked on enforcement and permit actions involving air pollution, water pollution, toxic substances, and chemical regulation under a variety of federal, state and local laws. His experience and knowledge have been applied to issues in both administrative and judicial tribunals.

Of Note

Dave has taught environmental law as Adjunct Professor at the University of Kansas School of Law and at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He is a chapter author of the 1991 Missouri Bar Deskbook on Environmental Law and the 1992 Kansas Bar Association Deskbook on Environmental Law, and is past editor of the American Bar Association's Year-in-Review chapter on Solid and Hazardous Waste.
